Hey guys, I got this headset and it's by Cyber Acoustics. I think the model was AC-201. Anyway, the headset speakers were fine but the microphone has some issues with Windows 7. I tried it on Windows XP and the microphone worked great but not with Windows 7. Windows 7 fails to even recognize or see the microphone that is part of the headset. I can listen to music and stuff with the headset but somehow the microphone is messed up. Someone please help.

Does the company have specific drivers for it? I had a Plantronics DSP-500 that required the Plantronics driver to work fully.

I checked on their website and couldn't find any drivers for it. It's strange how it works on Windows XP but not my Windows 7 . Well, actually, it works on my school computers but not my home computers, which is very strange.

Sounds to me like a standard compatibility issue with Windows 7. If that is the case, it might be unfixable if there is not drivers or a patch for Windows 7 :

Funny, Microsoft says that it's compatible for both 32 and 64 bit.

Maybe it has to do something with my sound driver. I'm not sure, anyway .

The Amazon page for the product leads me to believe it connects via 3.5mm jacks for microphone and headphone. Therefore it should work fine as long as your audio card has the correct drivers installed and the mic port is selected as default recording device.
Open up Sound from the Control Panel or just search Start for it. Under the recording tab make sure external mic or whatever its called on your system is selected as default.

Yeah, I tried that on my Windows 7 computer but no luck at all. I made my microphone as default and that didn't work. The funny thing is that it doesn't detect any microphone part of the headset when I plug it in or something but it detects headset for speaker output. Even setting the standard microphone to default really has no effect.
